East of Rome, George Clooney Spotlights Sextantio

George Clooney's latest blockbuster The American throws the spotlight on a small Italian town deep in the mountainous Abruzzo region -- Santo Stefano di Sessanio, or Sextantio, its Latin name.  The entire village is a luxury hotel and villa complex for affluent outsiders.

'Buyers can opt into a management package or own the property without any interference from the hotel,' says Luca Catalano of selling agent Realitalia. The package would include cleaning, meals, concierge services and rental of your rooms as part of the hotel structure, with a return in line with the current occupancy rate of 40 per cent. We would expect to fill the property for at least 20 weeks a year.'
